Rock the Cat Ba

After a few days in Hanoi we traveled by bus and boat to spend my (Anna) birthday on Cat Ba Island. We spent the day kayaking and attempted to rock climb. It was our first time climbing and we couldn’t think of better place to try it than beautiful Halong Bay, a World Heritage site. It was crazy difficult but a lot of fun! Afterwards we celebrated with mojitos and sunset over the bay. Happy 32nd Birthday to me!!

Vu, one of our guides who recently won a competition and was named top climber in Vietnam. He is 23 and climbs faster barefoot than with shoes. Amazing.

Obviously Anna gets credit for the great photos as always. She really has a gift! See you soon, Pam!

Apparently, I am so incompetent that I did not post my comment about “nice butt shots. You guys are plainly in fine shape. If insane.”

Not really sure how we should feel about that “nice butt” comment but we’ll choose to be flattered. Creeped out a bit, but flattered. And just think, we can be creeped out in person in just 23ish hours!
